I don't know whether to consider it good or bad that relatively large spiders no longer creep me out haha. This is a wolf spider that I found outside my door getting home tonight. They are considered poisonous but not fatal...just enough that it causes a bunch of irritation if you get bitten. I still like avoiding that, so after this picture I carefully got him or her into a bowl and moved them to the parking lot...not that that means they're far away...but knowing they aren't beside my door is always good. Most of the time they actually hunt the spiders/insects that are considered venomous to humans...so it's usually better to just let them move on...it's just nice to not have them by the door in case they sneak in, because the last thing you want is to be surprised by a 1"+ spider at a random time! Haha. This was actually probably a really good example...because they usually are a max size of a little more than an inch (although the website I gave says less, the spider book I borrowed for identifying says +1" on rare occassions), and this one had a leg-span of at least an inch. So the pictures are of a pretty good sized wolf spider! (Sorry for the kind of blurry second picture!)
