My Travels in Australia

Salamander in My Kitchen

I found a salamander in my kitchen this morning. He was probably about an inch long (edit: maybe a bit bigger, but for sure not more than 2", because he was tiny), and he looked pretty freaked out so I'm sure he was happy to be outside again. I'm not sure what kind it was or anything - I do know that apparently the lizard I saw a while ago with the big stubby tail is probably one of these, which are apparently relatively common around here.

I had a meeting at my study site yesterday, and my project's been written into the budget of one of the stakeholders here, so that's helpful and means we're on the hunt for a less of the funding we need. That's always good! There are two pieces of equipment we're hoping to get to make my project work properly, and we just need a little more to be able to do that (but we have three more groups left, so that shouldn't be a problem - they're all interested).
