Have I mentioned the birds? Australian birds are very loud. This one and this one usually wake up around 6:30-7:00 in the morning, and they pretty much start making noise right away. It's not bad, but it takes some getting used to...it's like living in the wild haha. Some of the more exciting birds I've seen around are the parrot I mentioned before, the sulfur-crested cockatoo, the princess parrot and dusky moorhens that live in our campus' "lake"!
I've been busy figuring out the library (I had a tour today - they have tonnes of tour times, because the library is a completely new building and pretty much no one knows where everything is now haha), and I've started getting my research proposal together. It's a lot of researching constructed wetlands, arsenic, urban stormwater run-off, permeable reactive barriers that can filter water, and soil types of this area. It's been pretty interesting so far, but I'm realizing there's only so many journal articles you can read before you have to take a break...even if it just means reading stuff that uses english that gets used in everyday life haha.
Anyways, it's dinner time, but I thought I'd throw out a quick update. Once my classes start next Monday (okay, I actually only have a class every Wednesday) I'll update about how all of that works and such. Talk to you all soon!
